Icy Lake - Markeaton Park - Derby

Towards the end of february we had a surprise day of snow. We visited the local park to get probably the last chance to enjoy snow, this end of the year. Ice had formed on the boating lake and I captured a number of reflections with my camera. This was the best one.

The pressure as an exhibition approaches

This month I have been hard at work trying to produce some good paintings for the exhibition in May. As an exhibition deadline gets nearer I tend to go into overdrive producing many paintings to select from. For every painting I am happy with there are at least a couple along the way that get painted over or reworked to the extent that there is nothing left of the original.

The sea will be there long after we are gone.

The cold dark sea at night. I like to watch the sea at night particularly if its stormy. I like to see the sea wrecking the coastline, breaking street-lights with sharp stones. The sea will be there long after we are gone.
